1953, Johnny was in 1st grade. Miss Polly Walker was his teacher. When Betty started school, she had Miss Douggie Sleadd (Helen Douglas Sleadd Rice) for 1st grade.
Courier Journal Paper Boy
Johnny delivered The Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL for 5 years. Daddy also helped him get fresh farm eggs to sell and deliver personally to our neighbors. During high school, he worked at Beck Garrett's Chevron station in Middletown. This painting is on display at Louisville's Speed Museum. CLICK on the photo to learn more about this artifact.
